F1040038.jpgAt Mana we recognise the importance of total well-being,  for this reason we offer a wide range of healing therapies for body, mind and spirit from professionals with many years of experience.  Course participants and those on personal retreats can book their treatments in advance or during their stay.

DSCN1749.jpg*Waimana Spa is an oasis of tranquillity a five minute walk through the bush from Mana Retreat Centre.  Run by two of Mana’s founding trustees and therapists, Sol Petersen and Penelope Carroll, Waimana Spa has treatment rooms and a hot pool for Watsu and aquatic bodywork treatments.  Massage and Remedial Bodywork:  relaxation, deep tissue, remedial, pulsing, fascial kinetics – or a combination of these for a rejuvenating experience.

 Watsu and InWatsu.jpgtegral Aquatic Therapy:  experience the healing power of warm water in a session designed to deal with your specific body tensions and restrictions.   Combines massage, joint release and stretching.  Enjoy the setting of native bush and sea views from the water therapy pool at Waimana Spa (35 deg C). Wonderfully nurturing and relaxing – as well as remedial.

Aston Movement Coaching: an approach to total body fitness including toning, stretching, relaxation and loosening exercises. Create a personal programme for yourself, get help in dealing with injuries or improve your body use in sports or other activities of daily life.1

Craniosacral Therapy: a non-manipulative, gentle, whole body therapy contacting the body’s intrinsic rhythms, pulsations, patterns of congestion and resistance.  Deeply relaxing, it assists the body’s natural healing processes, increasing physical vitality and well-being.

 

Lymphatic drainage:  a light massage technique designed to increase circulation, releasing the build-up of toxins and promoting whole health.

 Visceral Release:  a combination of massage and Eastern approaches focussing on the abdomen and useful for detoxification.

 Seaweed Body Wraps:  (when available).  using exclusive French spa products, this detoxifying and revitalising wrap includes foot and face massage and gentle cranial work for deep relaxation.

 Counselling and Body Centred Psychotherapy:  listening to the inner wisdom of your body helps you deal with issues and, though self discovery, make positive changes in your life.

 Cognitive Therapy: an excellent focus for dealing with issues, putting you in touch with your inner resources and increasing emotional and spiritual resilience.

 Interactive Drawing Therapy:  a creative way of gaining insight using a combination of drawing, writing and talking.

 Tai Ji, Qi Gong and Stretching: personal tuition in traditional arts of energy cultivation

 Val Montague N.D, has many years of experience in a range of modalities including Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy and Spa treatments. (see  also: Rejuvenation workshop and Living into Health).

 

Sol Petersen, with extensive training in Structural Integration, Watsu and Integral Aquatic Therapy, Trager, Aston Movement Coaching, Craniosacral Therapy, Hakomi Psychotherapy and Tai Ji, practices and teaches in Coromandel, Auckland and internationally. (see also: Waimana Spa).

 

Penelope Carroll is a body-worker and psychotherapist trained in Structural Integration, Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Watsu and Integral Aquatic Therapy, Aston Movement Coaching, Hakomi Psychotherapy, Cognitive Therapy and Interactive Drawing Therapy.  She practices in Coromandel and Auckland. Lalita Morrison has a diploma in Therapeutic Massage (TMA) and practices a range of relaxation and remedial approaches.

                                                                         Terry Petersen has an MA in Therapeutic Bodywork and practices Craniosacral Therapy, Remedial Massage, Hellerwork Structural Integration and Watsu Aquatic Therapy.
