Practitioners in the health professions are often subject to multiple sources of stress, including excessive workloads, burnout and “compassion fatigue”.
The practice of mindfulness enables you to renew and enhance the rewards of your chosen profession, and to foster better relationships with clients and colleagues.
By observing with steadiness and compassion the movements and habits of our minds and hearts, we take a step onto the path of lasting peace.
This retreat is open to all health practitioners in medical and allied professions.
We invite you to join other dedicated health practitioners for five days of contemplative practice, meditation and learning, in the tranquil beauty of the Coromandel.
This retreat is an opportunity to enter into quiet, reflective space, away from the demands of work and social activity.
No previous meditation experience is required; the programme is accessible both to beginners and to those with previous experience or a regular practice. Full instruction is provided, as well as time for individual mentoring.
Instruction and practice will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, along with other techniques that enable us to cultivate focused awareness and the capacity to be fully present to each moment, without judgment or expectation.
The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) has approved this programme for up to 40 hours endorsed CME for General Practice Education Programme Stage 2, (GPEP2) and maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) purposes.
